Bethesda and ID Software changed a lot of their original recipe with this new entry in the legendary game series, but they kept what worked wonderfully in Doom 2016 and Doom Eternal: juicy secrets.
We'll be creating guides on finding all of these for each chapter, so keep an eye out. Here is how you can find all Chapter One secrets in Doom The Dark Ages, and what they are.
Being the first chapter in the game, this mostly serves as The Dark Ages' tutorial level. With that being said, it still comes with six secrets spread throughout the level, which can be easily missed.
The secrets are ordered based on when you bump into them, so you can directly find the ones you missed if you only missed a couple. We'll reveal what they are at the end of each heading in case you don't want to be spoiled.

After receiving this melee weapon, you'll walk into a tutorial arena which will stay locked until you complete the two presented challenges.
Following this, you'll clear the burning build, which is where your objective will point you towards, but instead of immediately climbing the wall, you'll use your Shield Charge to break the wooden barrier to the left of the climbable wall.
Doing so will unlock access to the first Secret Area in Chapter one, rewarding you with a precious Life Sigil.

Shield Charge through the wooden planks on the left-side wall, and you'll be back at the area where the locked gate is.
Don't go through it yet, instead go left, towards the area through which you progressed to eventually make your way into the key. There is a small gate on the right-side wall that is also unlocked using the Blue Key. Open it, and you'll find a Toy figurine of an Imp.
There are three secrets in the area after the locked gate, so these are not necessarily ordered in the way you will find them. They're all in the same area, though, so it is easy to identify them. The third secret we bumped into was in the left section of this big open area.

Clear that platform too, and then turn back towards the one which had a demon gate. Jump off the ledge into the opening shown above and you'll find your first weapon skin in Doom The Dark Ages.

Make your way there, clear that gate too, and instead of progressing to the next one, go tot the left of the gate.
Walk by the structure on your left until you see a floating purple object, a secret key. With it on you, return to the center of the area, after the blue key gate, and you'll see a small gate with a purple lock. Approach it with the key and you'll open it, finding another Life Sigil inside.

You'll notice that the ledge does not have a fence, look down and there is a platform where you can safely drop. Head into the cave on your right for another toy, this time representing a Soldier. Be careful as you'll be ambushed on your way back.
Climbable wall. Image credit: Bethesda Softworks. Screenshot captured by Blast. The sixth and final secret found in Doom The Dark Ages' chapter one is found in the beach, the last area of the chapter. Fight through the horde of demons and you'll unlock a path to the end of the chapter, identified by a symbol with a door.
Instead of going to the left, towards the objective, look to your right and you'll spot a climbable wall. Go up and to your right to find the final secret, a Codex page on the Village of Khalim.
