There are two main bottlenecks to your production in Corsair Cove. One of those is, of course, shiny money. The other is working hands in the form drifters.
Here is how to get more drifters quickly in Corsair Cove, allowing you to expand your little pirate paradise and progress further into the game.
The most obvious way to get more drifters in Corsair Cove is to grab castaways from the sea. There is no challenge to these events, you simply pay the price you want for the amount of drifters you prefer.
You’ll quickly learn that the best option (the one which gives you the most drifters) will often cost a resource and Cohesion, so try to keep your Cohesion as high as possible (the meter at the top middle of your screen).
A second, equally obvious way, is to accept Fresh Drifters, an occasional random event which will bring drifters to your little slice of paradise. You can always send them away free of their wares, but, trust us, you will always need more drifters.
Events always have resources tied to their event type (e.g. Treasure Caves always allow you to get money during the event itself), but they will also have random rewards.
Hover an event to check what rewards it gives you and you’ll find some rewarding you with a ton of drifters. This will likely be the source which will give you the largest amount of drifters at once, just keep in mind that you’ll need to build a lot of houses in a row to keep them happy.
The best and only free way of getting drifters in Corsair Cove is to stop wasting them in unused production lines. While this is a very accessible city-management game, it doesn’t tell you everything. One of the key details it omits, which is quite easy to miss, is the fact that a lot of your production buildings are only used occasionally.
Sails, as an example, are only used when building ships. As you might imagine, you’ll rarely be building ships, but that production line will keep going. Often two to three buildings filled with drifters that eventually stop working because the output isn’t going anywhere.

Thankfully, Limbic Entertainment gave us an excellent feature to keep track of this. At the top right of your screen you’ll find a collection of icons. These are tidbits of information that help you keep your island efficient. One of those has a barrel besides two crates and it lets you know that a building’s storage is full.
When this happens, production will stop, similar to a shutdown. If said building is being fed by one or two others, those will eventually stop too. You can just tap that icon repeatedly to check all buildings that you have with storage full. Make sure that you don’t need that resource at the moment and just shutdown the building for the time being.
Since most buildings require two to three workers, doing this for even just 10 buildings can net you as much as 30 drifters entirely for free. You don’t have to pay any resource and you don’t even have to complete an event. Repeat this every few hours and you’ll (almost) never run out of drifters again in your Corsair Cove playthrough.
