Black Myth Wukong ends in the coolest boss fight in the entire game. The final duel is broken into two separate fights, each of these with two phases.

In this guide, we’ll cover both fights in detail, giving you all the tools you need to take them down.
Longevity is key to beating both bosses, so we have the same build for both of them. Here it is:
Relic choices are up to you, with the exception of Lingering Aroma, which just synergizes too well with the Monkey King’s Armor Set.
The key here is simple, Jingubang is the best weapon available during your first playthrough, and the full bonus of the Monkey King’s Set is excellent.
The entire fight takes place in water, so Waterward Orb has a lot of value, and makes you extremely tanky when paired with Wind Tamer.
Rock Solid will be your main spell, but Turtle Tear and Jade Essence will allow you to use all three spells quite liberally.
Baw Baw Lang Lang isn’t amazing against Stone Monkey, but it is excellent against The Great Sage’s Broken Shell. If you don't have it maxed, Non-Able is a great secondary choice, allowing you to stick to the bosses more reliably.
Your first fight against Sun Wukong will be in Stone Monkey form. This is a relatively easy fight, but one that takes quite a bit longer than what you’re used to at this point.
The main damage in this boss fight is fire and ice, so consider investing some points into your Four Banes resistance. Additionally, consider choosing a transformation that is immune to one of them, so you can have an easier time.
Wind Tamer trivializes this boss, and so does the special stance that you have access to when using Jingubang and the Monkey King’s Set in this fight. The stance will allow you to fully charge attacks up to four focus, so focus on that when you can.
You should always be aiming to Immobilize the Stone Monkey to guarantee that your four focus attack hits, or you might waste it.
The three moves to look out for during the first phase are:
Do not use A Pluck of Many during this first phase, as you don’t need it, and it will help us save mana for the second phase.
Instead, our main tool is Rock Solid. You want to stay on top of the boss, and keep hitting him. He is slow, he will always be staggered by your heavy attacks, and your light attack finisher.
Start your light combo against him and, if he goes for his swipes, dodge into him and keep the combo going. If you have Rock Solid up, use that instead, as it gives you a ton of focus when maxed out.
If he goes for the Shockwaves while being close to you, just run back as far away as you can, and dodge or jump over them. The fourth one takes a lot longer, so be careful with that one.
The teleportation spell is annoying, but is easily countered by Rock Solid. All you have to do is wait for him to appear, and immediately use Rock Solid. His attack will be deflected, and you’ll get a free riposte.
Hitting him during his own Rock Solid is completely fine, and will allow you to get some free damage in. He will always react by trying to grab you twice. These will be slower than his usual attacks, so dodge late.
Dodge into him for both swipes, and you’ll get a free Light Combo Finisher when he misses the second one.
Once you take down his first health bar, he’ll become enraged, and infused with both fire and ice. His moveset won’t change that much, but most of his previous moves will be empowered.
His jumping smash attack will now have a much larger AOE, the clone he leaves behind when he teleports will explode, and he has a few faster hitting attacks.
Every time he kicks into phase two, he’ll start by doing the new, empowered version of his shockwaves. You can bypass this entirely by just rushing towards him and using Wind Tamer.
While he is still recovering from the Vessel’s active ability, summon your clones, Immobilize him, and hit him with a four-focus attack.
Stay aggressive, and don’t commit to big attacks unless he is locked in animation or immobilized. He uses his teleport a lot more during the second phase, and you’ll whiff big hits if you’re not patient.
Despite the bigger shockwaves, you can still use Rock Solid to deflect his post-teleport smash attack, so keep doing that.
Once you get him down to around 40% HP, he’ll summon a clone. By this point, one of them will be fire, and the other ice. Focus the one which is lower, and take him down.
Try to keep both of them on your screen at once. They have ranged attacks which can get you staggered, so pay attention.
After you take down one of them, the other one will be empowered with both elements again. Stick to the script and you’ll have this fight nailed down in no time.
This is the true final fight in Black Myth Wukong, and it is a significant jump in difficulty from the Stone Monkey. The Great Sage’s Broken Shell cheats in multiple ways, which can make this fight a bit frustrating.
Regardless, it is the best fight in the game, especially when you get the hang of it. There are two main things to keep in mind when it comes to this boss. Firstly, he takes the Stone Monkey’s teleporting to an absurd degree. Sometimes he’ll just decide to spam his version of perfect dodges until he ends up on the other end of the arena, and his clone explodes like yours does if you have Vengeful Mirage.
Additionally, The Great Sage’s Broken Shell strips you of all relic powers when the second phase begins, which includes the special stance that you had access to with the full Monkey King Set.
With this in mind, we’re saving all our guns for phase two. This boss is extremely annoying due to his defensive tools, so we use that against him in his first phase. Head into the arena by charging your heavy attack, and hit him with a massive four focus hit.
Follow that up with your Baw Baw Lang Lang, as he isn’t immune to any of the Four Banes. With that done, dodge back until you put some distance between you. If he is walking menacingly, perfect.
Charge your fourth focus again, and slam him down. Rinse, and repeat. If you’re not close to him, he will almost never rush you down, and you can just cheese him to death using the special stance’s ability to charge up to four focus.
This is where the real fight begins, and it might be the toughest duel in the entire game. Your relics are gone here, and so is the broken special stance. We recommend sticking to Thrust Stance here, but choose the one you’re most comfortable with.
He’ll always start his second phase by going high into the air, and mimicking the four focus smash attack you had in your special stance. Use a single dodge to avoid the first hits, and delay your second dodge to avoid the final strike.
Take this opportunity to use A Pluck Of Many, and activate your Wind Tamer. Attempt to overwhelm him with your clones, and stay on top of him.
His usage of perfect dodge is annoying, but you can use it against him. He’ll almost always do it twice in a row, in the middle of your light attack combo. Just dodge twice towards him, and use the light attack finisher to stagger him.
If he completely disappears when he uses Perfect Dodge, he’ll always follow that up with an attack in which he throws his Staff, just spam dodges towards him and you’ll get some free hits in.
Stay on top of him by Seeing Through him in either Smash or Thrust Stance, and by using Rock Solid when he goes for a slower hit. Do not spam your light attacks, because he still has his own Rock Solid. And this time, the follow up is an undodgeable grab attack.
You don’t want to give him too much space here, because he has a lot of tools to close in on you with, and he can also use his own version of A Pluck of Many, which are clones that he throws at you.
Rock Solid deflects everything he does with the exception of the attacks in which his Staff turns red, and his kicks. Staying aggressive means more Might, which will in turn give you more Wind Tamers and Baw Baw Lang Lang casts.
The main key here is the following: keep dodging. This guy's combos are seemingly endless, but he almost always ends up on a hit that turns his staff red, and he’ll be vulnerable for a second or so.
Don’t try to hit him between attacks, unless you stagger him with a Light Attack Finisher or a Rock Solid deflection. Dodge until he misses the empowered hit, and strike back.
Don’t go for a full focus attack unless he is locked in animation or he’s Immobilized.
This fight is a war of attrition and requires patience. Our build will keep your mana decently healthy throughout the fight, and you should have more than enough Gourd usages to get you through it all.
