ARC Raiders: Combat Recon Quest Guide
Embark Studios brought us the first update to ARC Raiders in 2026 in the form of a relatively minor one: Headwinds. The bigger one is coming in February, but that doesn't mean that this one is devoid of content, au contraire.

Headwinds update comes with seven new quests to complete with a variety of objectives, and a new permanent Project to complete alongside the Expedition. Here is our Combat Recon quest guide to help you complete it in ARC Raiders.
Mission Objectives
The entire mission takes place in Buried City and can be completed in a single raid, although you're not required to do it that way. Shani gives you the Combat Recon quest and a free pair of useless binoculars to go with it. When you complete, she'll reward you with:
- Radio Renegade Outfit Variant (red)
- 5x Firecrackers
- 1x Fireworks Box
Combat Recon Quest Objectives are as follows.
Scope Out A Cover Spot In The Parking Garage Staircases
Open your map and locate where the Parking Garage is, North-East of Marano Park. To complete this step of Combat Recon you need to make your way to the top floor of the garage and enter the room in the North-Western corner, where my character is located.
There is a staircase inside and you'll find the quest objective at the top of those exact stairs.
Scope Out A Cover Spot In The Buses Near Marano Park
There are two buses in the Western side of Marano Park which can be easily found, they're the only two noticeable icons in the area when viewing the map.
Simply head into either of them and you'll have multiple interaction points to complete this step of Combat Recon in ARC Raiders.
Scope Out A Cover Spot In The Attics Around Main Street
This is the easiest step to complete in the Combat Recon quest because it doesn't require you to go to a single, specific place. Simply open your map, zoom in until you can see the Main Street near the Southern Edge.
Go there and head to the rooftops of any of the buildings around it, enter any attic through the interactable windows and the Scope Out pop-up will be waiting for you.
Santa Maria Houses, Plaza Rosa, and Red Tower all had attics that worked for this step of the quest.
Where To Find Spotters
The last two steps of the Combat Recon quest in ARC Raiders require us to kill a couple of Spotters and deliver a Spotter Relay. Thankfully, you'll find these Spotters, and the Bombardier they're accompanying, at one of the two locations which you already visited previously in our quest guide.
If you can't find a Bombardier at Marano Park, look for it in the middle of Main Street, and vice-versa! Simply shoot the two Spotters down without getting destroyed by mortars, and shove a Relay in your safe pocket.
The easiest way to do this is to lure a Spotter into a building and kill it inside so you're not susceptible to being destroyed by the Bombardier. Alternatively, you can also just kill the Bombardier if you bring the required arsenal for the task.
