With Day 6 of BLAST Premier ‘23 Spring Groups in the books, the names of all finalists in Groups A and B have been decided, and we can’t wait to finally find out who’s going to be the first to qualify for Spring Final.
But before that, let’s take a look at what happened yesterday on the server.
In the first battle of the day, Evil Geniuses once again spun everything on their head, sparking a discussion about whether this is the EG that everybody has to worry about now. With absolute dominance, they finished the CT side on Nuke with a 12:3 lead before Heroic tried to bounce back, but neaLaN wouldn’t have any of it. Following a brilliant showing, EG took Heroic’s map pick 16:9.
This must have been clearly unacceptable for Heroic, who in return, completely destroyed EG on their pick Overpass to bring it to the third map. The order has been restored with a much more dominant scoreline of 16:2.
The decider Mirage saw Heroic continue in aggression, which was clearly too much to handle for the North Americans. With the form that’s expected from the Danish Powerhouse, they held on to control until the end to pick revenge on EG with a score of 16:5 and claim Group A’s second grand final spot.
The showdown between OG and Team Liquid was a back-and-forth one from beginning to end, but once again, OG prevailed to rematch FaZe Clan in Group B grand final.
The first game of the series started on Liquid’s map pick Mirage, also known to be Liquid’s home ground, and it was a dirty one. That said, we weren’t short of impressive moments from all the individuals in the match, with degster and F1KU in the lead, showcasing the ultimate eagerness for success. Following an exchange of streaks for the most part of the match, OG finish things off with a final scoreline of 16:12.
Liquid clearly did their homework on the grounds of OG’s pick Ancient, and this time, they brought the hurt to OG. Although it looked like OG had a chance in the first half, it was clear in the second that the map was going in Liquid’s favour. With conviction, they claimed the Ancient 16:8.
On Overpass, it first looked like Liquid could have taken it over the finish line, but they crumbled against OG’s fabulous work on the CT side starring NEOFRAG. Full force, patience, and focus on the game paid off for OG, as they closed the game confidently at 16:10.
