The BLAST.tv Paris Major Open Qualifiers are in full swing, but before the final line-ups of each respective Closed Qualifier for regional RMRs are determined, we decided it’s time to drop an ice-breaker!
Mix team HSG fe invited into the Chinese Closed Qualifier, set to take place this weekend, February 17-19.
Coming out of the ESL Impact Katowice 2023, HSG fe gained enough points to knock TYLOO out of the Chinese Top 4 in Valve’s Regional Rankings and therefore earned their spot in the Qualifier.
The Chinese-Hong Kong-Malaysian roster that registered with three female and two male players now have a chance to advance to the Asia-Pacific RMR and become the first team of its nature in history to attend a Major RMR event. And if they play well, possibly the Major itself.
HSG emerged around mid-2021 but established themselves in the Asian Counter-Strike scene in 2022 after consistently winning all of the weekly ESEA and ESL Impact Cash Cups throughout the year and the DouyuTV Take Aim! Goddess event
When it comes to the international stage, the Asian mix made a name for themselves at the end of 2022 after qualifying for the ESL Impact League Season 2, where they placed 3rd-4th following their semifinal defeat against FURIA Female.
This respectable showing in Jönköping earned HSG an invite to the recently-concluded ESL Impact Katowice 2023, where they finished in the 5th-6th position, snatching enough points to knock TYLOO out of the rankings.
HSG certainly did prove their prowess in recent tournaments, so let’s see how the squad fares in the Closed Qualifier and whether they will become the first mixed roster to compete in Major RMRs!
The full HSG fe line-up is: Hazel, GFi, Argent, Naomit, Michael and Xiaowu (sub)
