Valve has been excellent at updating Counter-Strike 2 so far, and yet another update dropped last night.
One of the biggest updates to date at a massive 6GB, there are loads of changes in the patch notes, including an update to fan-favourite map, Overpass.
Just one of many changes, let's have a look at what Valve has done for us this time.
How about we start with the Overpass changes? There have been "various visual updates and fixes to models and materials", but the biggest one is the addition of "a metal plate to swat van to hide player feet."
If you're curious as to what that looks like, fortunately, Jacky is on hand to show us:
Overpass isn't the only map to receive changes, both Inferno and Vertigo have too. A bucket has been moved on the scaffolding on B Site on Inferno because players kept mistaking it for enemies, while Vertigo has seen the wooden boards by B Stairs made thicker thanks to an issue where players were clipping through them.
Another big change is that metal pipes and railings now have their own sound, which will aid players in understanding the contextual sounds of their enemies. If you're wondering what that sounds like, once again, Jacky has us covered:
Finally, the final big gameplay update of note is that Valve has "reduced sniper scope bob animation magnitude and frequency". This had been a big problem in CS2 so far for AWPers, so it's a huge relief that Valve has decided to reduce it.
A huge update, there's been a lot of changes that will undoubtedly make the game better. There's still a long way to go for the game to be at the level of CS:GO, but we have confidence in Valve that we'll get there soon.
