Now the dust has settled after the spectacular culmination of the BLAST Premier ‘22 Fall Final, we’re hardly finding words to describe what an incredible Grand Final this was!
The atmosphere in Copenhagen's Royal Arena was simply electrifying, as the massive clash between Heroic and FaZe Clan went down in history as the first victory for cadiaN and his boys in front of their home crowd.
Both teams showed what they were made of throughout the tournament, with FaZe getting back on track almost to their original godlike form and Heroic perfecting their fluent teamplay along with insane individual performances. This all brought an unforgettable Fall Final finish to the Copenhagen crowd.
While most of the arena was going wild for the all-Danish line-up, a good number were cheering for their countryman karrigan, which made the dynamic in the arena even more lively and energetic. Because no matter the winner, the Fall Final outcome meant a big win for Danish Counter-Strike.
Starting off on Heroic's pick, Overpass, things looked like the back-to-back grand finalists would be able to overcome their past demons of the Rio Major Grand Final easily. And in fact, after a strong T-side, not even FaZe were able to stop the determination of the Danish squad to prove to the fans that they booed the wrong team last year. With things clearly under control, Heroic won the first map 16:11.
Switching to Inferno, it was FaZe's time to shine! And Broky took that seriously, as the blindingly good plays by the Latvian AWP talent brought the international squad to an 8:7 halftime score. On T-Side Inferno, the game was riddled with close rounds and split-second decisions. The overall scoreline of 16:12 might appear close, but the second half was dominated by karrigan’s team, as Heroic only gathered four wildly distributed rounds together.
So what better map to settle it all than the infamous Mirage, a map that had gone the distance four times during Fall Final? Heroic were off to a flying start, and despite previous worries of a possible choke, they took a commanding 11:4 lead on the CT-side. Many counted FaZe out, but after a lacklustre showing at the beginning, Karrigan and rain came back into the match with full power to support Broky in bearing the weight of the team. The unbelievable happened as FaZe pulled an incredible comeback and brought the match to overtime!
Three maps and an overtime thrill to finish it off sent the arena raving, and to top it off, Stavn and Jabbi went once again above and beyond to help Heroic close things off at 19:16 to finally claim that title.
The crowd was ecstatic, with many inside the arena in tears of pure joy and excitement from such an epic and moving moment as Heroic lifted the Fall Final trophy.
