The first two games of the BLAST Premier Fall European Showdown are now over and the second game of the day saw ENCE overcome Alliance to book a semi-finals clash with BIG.
The second 2-0 of the day, Swedish side Alliance looked strong on their map pick of Ancient, but couldn't muster enough strength to pull off an upset map win against their tier one opponents.
With a dominant second map from ENCE, let's take you through the action.
ENCE started out strong on Ancient with a win in the pistol round and subsequent conversion, but were perhaps caught off guard as Alliance managed to fight back and hold them to just a 8-7 lead at the half.
Young star avid was the standout for Alliance in these early rounds, his 17-9 statline from the first half was key to Alliance securing as many T side rounds as they did.
As Alliance switched to their CT side, veteran player twist came alive and four quick round wins allowed the Swedish side to take the lead 11-8. Their lead was short-lived, however, as Israeli star Nertz stepped up to outdo avid with a 19-9 T side half and help his team close out the map 16-13.
A potential breakout map for avid, the lesser known Swede may now have alerted some of the big boys to his rising star.
Maybe the close nature of map one scared ENCE, or maybe they just woke up, either way, map two was a whitewash.
A 16-6 victory, Nertz was again the star for the international team as he racked up another 24 kills in the 22 round game. SunPayus and dycha were also big for ENCE, their 15 and 14 T side kills respectively helped the team build up an 11-4 lead at the half.
avid was once again one of the better fraggers for Alliance, he tied with PlesseN for their top frag with 14. Sadly though, he couldn't repeat his heroics of map one, and as his team struggled, so did he.
A performance more fitting of a team with the reputation of ENCE, they now advance to Friday's semi final against BIG.
