The start of BLAST Premier Fall Final ‘22 is getting closer, which means the time to lock in your PICK’EMS is quickly running out!
Can you predict the future? Are you 200IQ and know who’s going to win? If you do, you’ll earn exclusive BLAST.tv rewards as well as untold bragging rights in the community!
All you need to do is lock in your predictions on group winners, group eliminations, finalists, and the outright winner before the start of the Fall Final, and get at least three predictions right.
The deadline is Wednesday, November 23 at 9 AM CET.
It's not a meme to pick with your heart
For inspiration on how to proceed with choosing your PICK'EMS, we asked some of our Fall Final talent about their methodology when deciding who to pick.
Launders, who has Diamond, Gold, Gold coins in the last 3 majors, says listening to your heart is always a good way to go about it:
“I think it's not a meme to pick with your heart. A bracket never ends up being the favorites winning every match all the way through, and if we learned anything from the Major, the upsets can be more than one and from the most unlikely matches. When you zoom out, team rankings make sense, and favorites win, but now more than ever, the edge is around 5-10% at most.”
Meanwhile, Pimp, the reigning champion of BLAST predictions, suggests using a combination of your head and heart:
“I’d say it’s always a mix of the two. There are various factors to think about — the overall form, current form, history, motivation levels, and the “feel” the team gives you coming into a tournament. Do they sound sincere, confident in interviews, or forced?
Groups and matchups are also something to consider but don’t overcomplicate it. There’ll always be a surprise or two, and when they happen, everything falls to the floor, don’t stress it.”
And as with everything, balance is ever-important, as Mahone pointed out:
“It's good to have a balance between being analytical and using your gut feeling. Teams are not machines that perform the same way every time. They're susceptible to performing differently from event-to-event, and even day-to-day. It's what allows upsets to happen, so choose wisely!”
Who are the community’s favorites?
For those who haven't yet decided on their picks, here are some stats that might help.
