Vitality rode the Into the Breach wave and outclassed the English boys to end the impossible dream.
Backed by a raucous French crowd, Vitality were a little slow to start but Magisk felt that they had a few nerves to work through.
"We had to move a little bit of tension, and being a little bit nervous, I think it's normal. It's one thing to talk about the pressure and another to be in it."
Interestingly, volt believes he felt "no pressure" whatsoever, and even though the crowd weren't on the ITB side, it might've helped them.
"First of all I loved playing in front of the crowd. Even if they were against us," he told BLAST.tv "I took every noise, every cheer as a boost."
Once the game settled down, though, Vitality became incredibly dangerous, and took control.
Magisk said to us: "Once we started playing our own game and not being afraid of them, I feel like we were in control."
Into the Breach silenced the crowd to kick off Vertigo one with some balls-to-the-wall aggression to race into an early 8-4 lead.
Magisk felt the momentum moving towards ITB.
"I think they played some good CS, you could feel in the beginning that they were not afraid so obviously a little bit rough to play against in the beginning."
A still-giddy CYPHER spoke to BLAST.tv while trying to suppress a grin. "The round where I one-deaged ZywOo, ah, it was kind of crazy, I just had to smile."
CYPHER and CRUC1AL combined to cut the Vitality defence down to size and bring the underdogs into a half-time lead, and it looked like it might go a step further when CYPHER somehow won a 1v2 retake on the pistol round.
The dreams were quickly cut short, though - as volt explained: "We won pistol, they won second round and it pretty much just took momentum away from us."
The dreams were quickly cut short, though - when ZywOo ripped off three heads on Ramp to reset the ITB economy and put the game on a more even footing.
"When we went onto CT side they pretty much just found gaps in our defence, and we couldn't really fix it in time," said volt to BLAST.tv.
CYPHER collected two as Vitality hit B to put ITB on eleven, but was quickly caught out getting aggressive twice as the experience of Magisk outwitted him, and the Major-winning hands executed two more.
CYPHER was disappointed with himself.
"Vertigo I kind of take the loss on my chin, because CT side Vertigo I gave my life as a B player a few times when I shouldn't have."
From there, it was all Vitality.
They won out from here - with a little help from CRUC1AL falling off the map, admittedly - and seemed to get comfortable with the energy of the crowd and use it.
"It's a bit rough, but what can you do, we move."
Indeed, CYPHER. Indeed.
Into the Breach once again made Vitality uncomfortable on Anubis and at times had them on edge, but couldn't quite overpower them.
When Vitality took the first pistol it felt like it could quite easily spiral into dominance from the home team, but ITB pulled off a scrambled-together defence to break them back and take an early lead.
"I feel like we started pretty well, we actually broke them on the second round, but the same thing happened. We had gaps and they abused us on those gaps," said volt.
ITB had Vitality wobbling a little bit, but as ever Magisk was reliable and held down the fort to bring Vitality back into the game - and from there, ZywOo woke up and showed off some sexy stuff.
In the server, we should clarify. He kept his clothes on.
He and Magisk took over on Anubis and put Vitality in a commanding position, but ITB hung on. They found some success on B as dupreeh struggled to stop the stampeding offence, but eventually Vitality took a chokehold and never let go.
Magisk felt it was always going to go their way.
"Even though it got close, I feel like we were in control the whole time."
