After the second day here at the BLAST.tv Paris Major, we now know who will be the first two teams to progress from the Challengers stage. G2 and ENCE will join the eight other teams that qualified straight to the Legends stage from the RMRs following their victories over Apeks and FaZe respectively.
One of the favourites for the tournament overall heading in, G2 have breezed through the opening stages of this Major with their 3-0 status hammering home their favoured status. Taking on Apeks today for progression, the underdogs caused problems for G2 on Anubis as they went in at the break up 8-7, but Tim "nawwk" Jonasson's 27 kills were not enough as G2 closed out 16-11.
G2's pick of Inferno was one of utter domination and a statement to all the teams waiting in the Legends stage that the Samurai is coming. Crushing their opponents 16-3, G2 has earned a rest for a few days as we continue here at the opening phase of this Major to decide who else will join them moving on.
Joining G2 in the Legends stage and certainly earning their extra few days off, is ENCE. Facing off against FaZe in their 0-2 game, many would have considered ENCE the underdogs considering the names on the other side of the server. It looked to be business as usual for FaZe on Overpass, winning out their map pick with a scoreline of 16-12.
Nuke went the way of ENCE off the back of a dominating T-side which saw them net 11 rounds. Shutting down the FaZe comeback on their defensive half and winning the map out 16-13, ENCE dictated the flow on Anubis as they won the half 8-7 on the less favourable CT-side before only conceding a single round in the second half, securing a 16-8 scoreline, as well as their status in the Legends stage.
