9INE were the most impressive team at the RMRs. A team who has spent all year grinding since the arrival of star AWPer hades, they earned their spot at the Major with ease and firmly put Polish CS back on the map in doing so.
Unfortunately, their time in Paris didn’t have the same fortunes as their time in Copenhagen for the RMR, and after losses at the hands of Liquid, GamerLegion, and FaZe, they find themselves exiting the Major with a 0-3 record.
After the game versus FaZe, BLAST.tv got the chance to speak to an understandably dejected Kylar.
Obviously this has been a disappointing time in Paris for you, how are you feeling following the loss?
I mean... yeah... I feel very disappointed. We didn't win our first two games and then today, they really outclassed us on Anubis. We tried new things on Inferno but it didn't work out. We had a chance, but it didn't happen so... it's quite sad.
You looked really strong at the RMR, do you think nerves got the better of you here?
Yes, I think we had a lot of pressure. The first match we really stressed out, we didn't play individually well. The strategy was on point at the start, but then individuals failed and we crumbled. Overall we weren't mentally here I would say.
Despite the results, are you proud of what you've achieved for Polish CS?
Yes of course. I'm proud, I think we are all happy that we got to go to some nice LANs, we qualified for the Major which is a big achievement. I would be happy with Champions Stage, of course... overall it's a good experience and we didn't play too much with each other, so in a short time I think it's a good period for us.
Is it an experience you'll learn a lot from? What will you take forward from this event?
From this event, I think we learned that we need to be here from the beginning mentally, we need to have the hype and belief that we can do it. It was very different from the RMR, and we need to give it all, all the time, no matter what.
You've been grinding all year, what's next for 9INE?
We go back and play online tournaments [laughs]. Finish some tournaments, and then have our break, and then maybe CS2 will happen so we don't know what's going on but... CS2!
