Day one of EU RMR A has come to a close so we here at BLAST.tv have you covered with a rundown of the second round of matches!
Heading into the European RMR, FaZe and NAVI were downright favourites to make it out of RMR A. After a scary start against Into the Breach where double overtime was required, NAVI returned to form against Team Falcons with a dominant 16-6 win. As for FaZe, Finn "karrigan" Andersen’s side prevailed 16-13 against Apeks to put the former Major champions on the brink of progression to Paris.
Elsewhere, fnatic recovered from their gruelling double overtime against Viperio to take down 1WIN, putting themselves into the 2-0 column alongside FaZe and NAVI. Surprise package B8 were the final team to make it into the progression games, taking down Virtus.pro 16-14 on Ancient.
Fighting back after opening-round losses, both Bad News Eagles and MOUZ made it to the 1-1 bracket after shaky matches against 1WIN and B8 respectively. The Kossovan side came face to face with UK side Viperio in the battle of underrepresented regions in tier one CS, coming out on top on Overpass with a 16-9 win. David “frozen” Čerňanský led the way for MOUZ against SAW, posting a 27-17 stat line against the Portuguese side.
In the final round of games for the day, Into the Breach sent Sprout to the 2-0 game in commanding fashion, with Cai “CYPHER” Watson posting a whopping 29-14 stat line in the 16-7 victory. OG’s woes continued after their opening-round loss to FaZe, joining Viperio, SAW and Sprout in the elimination games as they fell 16-9 at the hands of GamerLegion.
